I adore what I do for a living. I couldn’t do anything else! And the thing I love most about what I do is the unpredictability of it! Every day is different! And Lucy and Matt’s Trash the Dress anniversary shoot was one such day!

The guys had booked me in months in advance and luckily the weather on the day was perfect! We did the shoot at a friends place on acreage about 5 minutes from me in Sheldon. Amazingly both Lucy and Matt both fit easily into their wedding dress and suit that they had worn 10 years ago at their wedding! Impressive! There was a definite spark of excitement when I got there, from both the couple and myself!

We started with a couple of ‘calm before the storm’ photos of the guys looking elegant and clean!

And then the fun began!

I couldn’t stop laughing the whole time! It was so much fun! I actually had a full day of shoots that day and was covered in blue powder within seconds! I didn’t care! It’s not every day you get to take part in something as awesome as this!

I asked the guys what their thinking was behind the Trash the Dress shoot, and they said their wedding dress and suit had been in the wardrobe for ten years and they wanted to celebrate their ten year anniversary with some fun photos, which compliments their personalities perfectly! I think we nailed the brief!

By the end of the shoot whole trays of paint were being launched! I cant even imagine how long it took to soak the dress, or how many showers it took to get rid of all signs of paint, but I reckon with photos like these, it was well worth the effort!

Congratulations on ten years of married perfection! Here’s to the next decade!

I love photographing weddings in Manly! I lived there for several years and am still local so know the area very well! I have also been a member of Moreton Bay Trailer Boat Club for many years so was delighted to be asked to capture Ray and Clara’s amazing wedding last October!

And what a day it was! It was a perfect day for Manly Wedding Photography – the sun shone, the wind was kind, and look at that for a wedding ceremony backdrop! The Moreton Bay Trailer Boat Club is a pretty special place to be married! Oh and Clara and Ray looked pretty good too!

Ray was relaxed and smiling as the guests arrived and Clara was more relaxed than when I had met the guys a few days prior when she pulled up in the wedding car! And how amazing is that dress!

Debbie Thomas did a fantastic job as always, officiating the ceremony and even wove (see what I did there!) a knot-tieing element into the ceremony! I have photographed several weddings with Debbie and she is a star – always a lot of fun, very easy to work with and nothing is ever too much for her! You can check out her web page here:
https://www.letscelebrate.com.au/

Cheers indeed! Congratulations on the perfect wedding ceremony guys! And all the best for the future!

The great thing about Moreton Bay Trailer Boat Club is that you don’t have to leave the premises for beautiful bridal party photos! We headed down to the boat ramp for some gorgeous bay and boat shots, and didn’t the guys do well!

And happily there was no need to head elsewhere for the reception as Moreton Bay Trailer Boat Club have you sorted there too! And with amazing water views and outstanding food to boot!

Congratulations on the perfect wedding day guys and thanks for being so much fun to photograph! Best Wishes, Andy

Real Estate Photography

Real Estate Photography Brisbane

A Thousand Miles Photography are better known for our wedding photography, family portrait photography and newborn photography but did you know we can help you out with your Real Estate Photography too?!

Jess from The Rosy Room Psychologists in Springfield Lakes contacted me earlier in the year to have some interior photos taken at the practice, so we locked in an early morning to do the photos before they opened. Usually the majority of my time during a real estate photography shoot is spent tidying up, removing finger prints from glass or ‘disappearing’ unneeded props like tissue boxes and pens, but Jess had done an amazingly thorough job so as soon as I walked in we started the photos!

Jess had also been to the flower markets that morning. A bit of greenery always make a property appear far more presentable and alive, and I think the results came out very well indeed!

We had already taken some staff photos for the website at the park across the road, so a little over an hour after starting we had photographed the reception area, all practice rooms and the waiting room. We work quickly because we understand occupying staff and work premises prevents your customers from entering, which affects your backline!

Because every real estate photography job is different it is difficult to have a standard price list available, but if you are looking to have your small business property photographed, or if you need staff photographs taking, then feel free to contact us for a quote and we can do the rest!

Hi there, let me introduce myself! My name is Andy Williams and I am a Redlands Photographer!

I love the Redlands but only moved here in 2015. We are based in Alexandra Hills and have a home studio, but we absolutely love on location photo shoots, such as Shahn and Joe’s Engagement photo shoot at Wellington Point park!

I particularly love Wellington Point as a location for photo shoots as there are so many options for backdrops! I always start at the beautiful Moreton bay Fig trees, before moving to the beach, jetty and bay views on the opposite side of the peninsular. Being a Redlands photographer means I know the area very well and know of a few secret photo locations!

Shahn and Joe were an amazing couple to photograph; so relaxed, so much fun and so much in love! I was privileged to have been asked to capture their wedding a few months after capturing these photographs, and that wedding day was equally as fun as this engagement shoot!

We were lucky that Wellington Point park was quite quiet that day so the guys had the place to themselves! We used all that the park had to offer and got some amazing and natural photographs; one of the specifications that the guys had before we started!

Venue: Brisbane Botanic Gardens

When Sam sent me an email asking if I could do a couple’s photo shoot in Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens, I didn’t need asking twice! It is one of my favourite spots in my favourite city in the world and I jumped at the chance!

professional portrait photography professional portrait photography brisbane

I met Sam and Todd on a warm January day, introduced myself, had a chat and dived into the photos! Although it was a warm day, it was perfect conditions for a couple’s photo shoot – slightly overcast and nice and bright.

It also helped that the botanic gardens were in full bloom; colour adds amazing depth to a couples photo shoot and makes for a fantastic backdrop.

The botanic gardens have some incredible locations for couple photos, but my favourite spot must be Fig Tree Avenue!

After capturing some beautiful couple photos in the park itself, we headed down towards Eagle Street for some photos with the Brisbane River and the Story Bridge as a backdrop. The breeze was fantastic and the light was amazing!

I always like to grab a few couple photos just outside the Botanic gardens on Alice Street, where the banyan trees have started to reclaim the fence!

Family photography is so much fun, especially when photographing such cuties! It was a bright and sunny winter afternoon when I met Anna and Scott and their gorgeous little girls at Robelle Domain in Springfield. The plan had been to do a larger family photo shoot but unfortunately a couple of the guys weren’t feeling the best but we went ahead anyway, and I am so glad we did!

Robelle Domain is a fantastic location for family photography – actually it’s a fantastic location for families full stop! – with plenty of shade, sun, and things to keep the kids amused!

We started in the nice grassy area down from the bridge – the focus was clearly on the two beautiful girls who smiled and played for the camera and made my job very easy!

We got Mum and dad in a couple of shots (well you gotta, hey?!) and then moved to the stairs behind. Walking all the way of course because we have to test out those legs!

Winters in Brisbane are awesome, and although I have acclimatised to Brisbane’s weather, I still find a 22-degree day pretty good for the coldest time of year! And ideal for lovely family photography!

Robelle Domain is blessed with fantastic family photography photo locations so we grabbed a few shots by the lake and then headed to the shade in the rainforest walk; an awesome wooden walkway that makes for amazing family photos.

Engagement Shoot: Kirralee and Kylle

Engagement Shoot: Kirralee and Kylle in Brisbane Botanic Gardens:

Date: 17th March 2016

Location: Brisbane Botanic Gardens

couples photographer engagement photography

Engagement shoots are a fantastic idea in my humble and totally unbiased opinion. Firstly you get to spend a fun afternoon with your loved one. (And me..) Secondly you get some amazing photos for your wedding invites and gift table on your actual wedding day. And thirdly you get to learn some cool and groovy poses so that you can smile and ‘Blue Steel’ the show on your wedding photos!

I had met Kirralee a few months earlier when she booked me in to be her wedding photographer but I didn’t meet Kylle until two weeks prior to the engagement shoot. He mentioned that he would quite like a dry run before the big day so that he didn’t ruin their wedding photos with awkward stances and fake smiles. Very good plan! We arranged to do an engagement shoot in Brisbane Botanic Gardens one cloudy but pleasant afternoon in March and met by the main entrance on Alice Street.

“Got any thoughts?” I asked,

“Nah,” Kylle answered. Cool, lets begin!

The guys were actually pretty good right from the start. I gave a little guidance but I always feel that too much micro-managing leads to even more awkwardness, so I prefer some gentle initial suggestions and then let the couple take the reins! We started by the lake, trying our best to avoid the ibises that tried valiantly to photobomb our shots and then headed back outside the park to get some photos by the fig tree roots that have reclaimed the park railings.

The good thing about Brisbane Botanic Gardens for couple photography and engagement shoots is that there is such a variety of backgrounds and points of interest. We found a massive banyan tree and posed around the roots, and it wasn’t long before Kylle was up there chilling out and, quite literally, monkeying around!

I had photographed a wedding here a few months prior and had loved the bamboo groves that dotted the park so we headed there for some nice romantic shots. Bamboo always adds interest and depth to a photograph, and they always give a lot of texture and interest to black and white photos.

We didn’t just go for smiling-at-the-camera shots, and mixed it up with some moody lighting and Calvin Klein poses. Kylle in particular enjoyed this part!

And we finished up just as the sun was setting and gave us some beautiful soft light. Kylle thought the engagement shoot was a great idea and had a lot of fun and having just photographed their wedding (as I type) he certainly got some good posing hints from it too! Not that he needed it!

Portrait Photography: Steph and Luke’s Wello Point Session!

Portrait Photography: Steph and Luke’s Wello Point Session!

Date: 1st April 2016

Location: Wellington Point, Redlands

Portrait photography is a lot of fun! You get to meet some fantastic people and photograph them in awesome locations! I met Steph, Luke, Peyton and Caleb at Wellington Point – my favourite place on Brisbane’s Bayside for portrait photography – and headed straight to the jetty. Poor Caleb had fallen asleep in the car and was still dozing when I started shooting – poor guy might regret that when he turns 21!

I always make a point of learning everyone’s names at a photo shoot – it helps with getting their attention, plus it’s just common courtesy! “You won’t have any problems remembering the names today,” said Luke; “I’ve got the kid’s names tattooed on my arm!” Haha, thanks Dad!

Caleb soon woke up and happily he wasn’t spooked by the strange bloke pointing a camera at him! In fact, he broke into the biggest smile of the day! And he scored a kiss on the cheek from his sister, Peyton!

We did a few shots on the jetty and in the small park in the middle of the Wellington Point park area, and then headed to the big fig trees where you are always guaranteed shade and amazing backdrops!

It’s always nice to get a few shots of each child with Dad and Mum seperately – as you can see, it was all smiles for Dad and all cuddles for Mum!

portrait photos portrait photography brisbane

The kids loved climbing amongst the roots and hiding behind the branches. Let them play I say! Some of the best shots will come from kids simply being kids!

And as a Dad myself, I loved how close Peyton is to her younger brother; they simply adore each other and weren’t shy having a little kiss for the camera! Honestly, doesn’t this just melt your heart!

wedding photography

Portrait photography has many guises; the group family photo, the couples photo, the kids photo, some black and white photos, and some spontaneous photos. We got them all that morning! Maybe it was because the kids had been swimming and were half a step behind but they certainly didn’t mind the camera and smiled brilliantly! Even Mum and Dad did a pretty good job! And remember that time before kids? When it was just the two of you? Yeah, me neither, but there was once upon a time a few years where it was just you two – romance, nights out, nights in – well kids kind of ends all that! So I make it a point to grab at least one couples photo of Mum and Dad, just so they can remember the good old days!

portrait photography family photography

But let’s be honest, it’s all about the kids! So the last fifteen minutes were all about Peyton and Caleb being cute and looking awesome with their beautiful curls and fairy dress (Peyton, not Caleb…)

And I didn’t even have to ask this time! Such amazing kids – just what a parent wants to see!

Then with five minutes to go we let the kids run free and they dived onto the climbing frame and were at the top before I could change my settings! Awesome: capturing kids being kids! Exactly what we wanted!

And all too soon our session was done. I would be fairly sure the swimming and the climbing would have meant a peaceful and early night for Mum and Dad! Thanks guys, I had a blast; hope you love the shots!

The photos arrived on Monday; I have been meaning to email you to say thank you but haven’t had a chance! The photos look good and  there are some really cute ones of the kids. I am more than happy to pass your details on to anyone who is looking for a photographer, we enjoyed our experience and are very happy with the results.
