A Maternity and Newborn Photography Package is the perfect way to welcome your new arrival. A maternity photo shoot is an amazing way to capture those glowing months. And a newborn photo shoot is an essential way to capture those early days when your baby is gorgeous, tiny, and new.

A 30-minute maternity photo shoot at Wellington Point Reserve
This includes 15 edited high resolution digital images
A 2-hour newborn shoot at your own home
This shoot includes 30 – 40 edited high resolution digital images

Maternity Photos

Christel and Ben booked in the Maternity and Newborn Photo Package to celebrate the arrival of their son Nathan. They brought along Leah, their daughter for both shoots (families and fur babies are always welcome at our shoots!) and she was so excited about the arrival of her baby brother!

Maternity photo shoots can be done at any time, but I personally love late afternoon as the sun is setting. The light is low, and Wellington Point Reserve is one of the few places on Australia’s east coast that sees the sun set over water (ideal for baby bump silhouettes!) Christel and Ben chose the perfect day.

Newborn Photos

Newborn baby photos are usually taken in the first 2 weeks when Bub is still tiny and sleeps more! In truth newborn shoots can be done any time in the first 6 weeks, but by then your baby will have filled out and will be awake a little more! But they will also be learning to smile – so cute!

Since Covid, I have been doing newborn baby photo shoots exclusively at your own home. The success rate is so much higher than being in a studio! Parents are more relaxed, as is Baby. You don’t have to pack a bag only to forget nappies etc. I bring everything I need for the photos: baskets, blankets, wraps, lighting, so you just need a Baby and we are good to go!

You are welcome to do just a newborn shoot of course. These are still conducted in your own home and are just $399, which will include between 30 – 40 edited, high resolution digital images.

Mini Photo Shoots

If you are looking for an affordable way to get a selection of amazing family photographs, our Mini Photo Shoots could be exactly what you are looking for! Lasting just 20 minutes (how kid-friendly is that?!), our mini photo sessions include 10 high resolution digital images without any compulsory print spend or added extras!

With the ever changing economy, I thought a budget-friendly option to photography would prove popular, and it really has! Mini Photo Sessions are here to stay!

The feedback has been amazing so I am going to make the mini shoots a regular thing! I will lock out a particular day every couple of months for a Mini Shoot Day, either in New Farm Park, or near me in Wellington Point Reserve!

Affordable Family Photography Brisbane

The shorter photo shoot time has been amazingly popular! Even the most restless of kids can stay still for 20 minutes! It has meant easier, more relaxed family photo sessions and without a hefty price tag! And that’s the best part – the Mini sessions at Wellington Point are only $99, and in New Farm Park they are $129! How good is that?

All of the family photographs on this page were taken at our mini photo shoots, so as you can see there is boundless option for photo combinations and locations.

As always, there are no restrictions to the number of people attending the shoot. A few things to remember:

Mini shoots last for 20 minutes and include 10 high resolution digital images
A non refundable deposit of $50 is required to confirm the booking. No shows or late arrivals will forfeit the deposit. The balance is due on the day.
Allow plenty of time for parking and delays! Mini shoots are time specific and late arrivals will eat into your shoot time!

Affordable Maternity Photographer

Although it may feel as if you have already been pregnant for years, those precious maternity months fly by all too quickly! An affordable maternity photographer, such as Andy Williams of A Thousand Miles Photography, can capture those amazing moments before the life change of Bub’s arrival.

We have two options for maternity photographs – either a standalone maternity shoot at a location of your choice, or we have a very popular maternity and newborn package available. This includes a 30-minute maternity shoot at Wellington Point Reserve (where these photos were taken!) and a 2-hour newborn shoot at your home. The total cost for this package is just $499 and will include 20 high resolution digital images from the maternity shoot and 40 from the newborn session!

So when is the best time to do an affordable maternity photography shoot? The best general advice is to have the baby bump photos taken around the 32-36 week mark when the bump is big but not too close to your due date that we may miss out!

And what about the newborn photo shoot? Generally when Bub is around 2 weeks old, but in truth any time in the first 6 weeks works well!

Here at A Thousand Miles Photography, we specialise in affordable Newborn Photography Brisbane. I am a Dad to two beautiful munchkins myself so know too well the joys of a newborn baby! Even with the lack of sleep, there is nothing more amazing than those newborn baby cuddles!

Those early days fly by all too quickly and an affordable newborn photography session is the best way to keep those memories forever!

Our affordable newborn photography sessions are a 2-hour session that allows for plenty of time for crying, melt-downs, changes, and feeding, and the relaxed pace makes the shoot easy and rewarding for Mum and Dad! It also means we can do a change of clothing, add a few toys or teddies into the photos, and even allows for some photos with Mum and dad, siblings and fur babies!

Maternity Photography

What better way to capture those beautiful pregnancy months than with a maternity photography shoot? Being pregnant is such an amazing but all too brief brief part of your life, and a pregnancy photo shoot will capture those amazing days. Whether we do the photos on location or at your place, you will be sure to capture some amazing memories of those pre-child days.

I was lucky enough to be contacted by Tayla and Luke to do their maternity photography shoot after having photographed their wedding a couple of years ago! And how amazing do they look? Well, Tayla does at least! We did the maternity photography shoot at Wellington Point Reserve; one of my favourite spots for photos! We had beautiful filtered light which always makes for amazing photos. My kids even came along as Tayla taught my son, Owyn, in 1st grade and he was keen for a catch up!

I love doing baby bump photos! They are always so much fun! I love the nervousness and excitement of the couple, and being a Dad myself I always like to share stories and potential expectations!

Wellington Point Reserve also gives heaps of varied backdrops too; with a wooden jetty, some amazing Moreton Bay fig trees, and ocean views. It is little wonder I do most of my photo shoots there!
